Political Savvy Model
The political savvy model is designed to:
- Identify your stages and bases of power.
- Decode what is meant by ‘organization politics’ and learn to recognize when and how it is being played.
- Learn analytical tools to understand the power, conflicts and interests present in any political situation, and increase your ability to get what you want in such situations.
- Review the role of ethics in politics, and understand your own political ethics.
- Understand culture’s and family’s role in shaping your sense of power and powerlessness.
- Recognize questionable tactics coming your way and learn to skillfully deflect them.
- Practice using political skills: depersonalizing, reframing, negotiation, strategizing, coalition building, etc.
- Incorporate political skills into creating and implementing a political change campaign for something about which you care.
- Integrate your positional power with a sense of purpose.
